Roberto Q. Ingram is a visionary DJ who masterfully blends all things house, emotional vibes, breaks, techno, and uplifting energy frequencies to create an outer body experience for his listeners. His sets are known for their groovy, deep, percussive, and fun elements, delivering a journey that profoundly impacts human emotions and captivates dance floors in clubs both small and large. For Roberto, it’s the long sets that allow him to craft a full musical journey, something he enjoys most.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and raised in Southern California, Roberto’s deep connection to music was sparked at an early age. His mother, a bartender in the nightclub scene, allowed him to select songs on the jukebox, nurturing his love for artists like Herbie Hancock, Bootsy Collins, and Parliament Funkadelic.
By age 15, Roberto knew that music and entertainment would be significant parts of his life. As a street and classical jazz dancer, he gained notoriety in Los Angeles and became a dancer on the iconic TV show „Soul Train.“ His passion for music led him to DJing, where he began collecting records and honing his skills.
In the early 90s, Roberto’s DJ career took off with residencies at renowned Los Angeles venues like the Hollywood Palace, Spice, and The Mayan. He also performed at major underground events such as Tribal Gathering and Moon Tribe, solidifying his stature in the club scene.
Relocating to Munich, Germany in 1995, Roberto’s sound evolved as he performed at acclaimed events across Europe, including F-Scope, World League Events, and the Berlin Love Parade. His flexible and innovative music style has made him a respected figure in the electronic dance music industry.
Roberto’s latest release, „Space Jackin,“ is set to drop on MS Frequency Of The Gods on July 17th, 2024. He continues to be a prominent force in the scene, with past works on Inspiration Network, OM Recordings, Water Seed Music Group, Black Nation Records, and Exun Recordings.
„For as long as I can remember, dance music has always been a part of my life,“ says Roberto. His sets are known for being upfront and limitless, embodying his black roots and aiming to show how music can be used as a positive tool.
Roberto is also the driving force behind the Decisive Podcast Series, a platform established in 2009 to support DJs and their works, delivering quality electronic music without boundaries.
